This nation has mobile phones, 24 hour news cycles, they want everything now, and they want it to be easy to get to. We all use convenience stores everyday just to buy gas for our cars.
We are trying to put God into the role of a god of convenience, instead of coming to Him, we want Him to come to us, but only when we feel like it.
